

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Golda Mae Kearns Gantt, 85, of Atlanta, passed away September 23, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. She was born in Farmer, NC on July 17, 1925, and grew up in High Point, NC. She married C.M. “Bill” Gantt, Jr., and moved to Atlanta, Ga. They enjoyed traveling, socializing, and golfing at Cherokee Town and Country Club and at their home on Amelia Island, FL. Golda was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her parents, Val and Lena Kearns, her sister, Jo Kearns Cooke, and brother, Val Kearns, Jr.
She was a devoted Mother to her daughters, Ronda Gantt Chenault, Tina Gantt Devlin (Phil), and Karla Gantt. She will be missed deeply by her grandchildren, Price Chenault (Amy), Marcie Chenault Simonton (Abe), Courtney and Erin Devlin. Golda was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Parker and Asher Chenault, and Amelia Simonton. A closely bonded extended family will forever remember this vibrant and warm-hearted woman.
Visitation will be Saturday evening, September 25, from 6pm to 8pm at H.M. Patterson & Son-Arlington Chapel, Sandy Springs. The service of remembrance will be at 3pm on Sunday, September 26, at H.M. Patterson& Son-Arlington Chapel. Internment will be at Arlington Cemetery following the service.
