

Harry Alexander Nix, 88 of Atlanta, a wonderful husband, devoted father, proud and caring grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2015. He was born in Lawrenceville to Edna Mobley Nix and Walter L. Nix, October 25, 1926. He attended West Georgia College where he met his life partner, Bobbie Frances Cobb. They married in 1947 and shared 67 years of friendship and love. Mr. Nix, a graduate of Emory University and Atlanta Law School was an entrepreneur, CPA, and attorney. He was devoted to family, both immediate and extended. He was generous to friends, clients, and employees. His life was full with integrity, faith, and joy. Mr. Nix was preceded in death by his “best girl”, Bobbie in January of this year, his son, Harry Alexander Nix, Jr. (Hank) and is survived by his daughter, Nancy Celeste Nix Jones; son, David Andrew Nix and his wife, Laura; grandchildren, Callie Lathangue, Hunter and Harrison Jones, Alexander, Alyssa and Grayson Nix; great grandson, Teddy Lathangue; and daughter-in-law, Donna Wheeler. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made “in memory of Harry Alexander Nix” to The Link Counseling Center, 348 Mt Vernon Highway, NE, Atlanta, GA 30328 or The Harry A Nix, Jr. Endowed Scholarship Fund at Wofford College, 429 N. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303. A memorial service will be Friday, July 17, 2015 at 2 o’clock at Patterson’s Arlington Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. The Family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 o’clock and also one hour prior to the service at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd., NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
