

Born in Carrollton , KY , she later moved her family to Miami , Fl. and then to Atlanta . As the central figure of five generations, she created a close-knit family unit, in part, by bringing all together for Sunday family dinners, which she prepared, and by instilling deep moral values in all generations. She was an ardent football, golf and Atlanta Braves fan. She was preceded in death by her daughter; Sue Broaddus Burch and her six siblings. She is survived by her daughters: Ann Yoder of Harrison , Ark. , Penny Davis of Canton , Ga. Kay Broaddus of Dunwoody , Ga. , seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. She cherished her many dear friends at Roswell Baptist Church . Faith and family were her centerpieces in life. She will be remembered as “the rock of our family” for her wisdom and humor, her role in directing us in our daily lives, for her twinkling blue eyes and incredibly sweet smile. The funeral service celebrating Mrs. Broaddus’ life will be held 2:00 o’clock, Friday, December 16, 2010, in the H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, Sandy Springs, GA, 30328. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 o’clock, Thursday, December 15, 2010, at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel. They will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service as well. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
