Helen Claiborne Fleishel

Helen Claiborne Fleishel, 77 of Canton, GA, died January 10, 2016. Helen was a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She was an avid supporter of the UT athletic program, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), a golfer and bridge player. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter, as well as a great friend to many. She will be missed. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Grace Claiborne; brother, Richard H. Claiborne; and brother-in-law, Homer L. Foster. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles F. “Chuck” Fleishel, III; sons, Charles Claiborne “Clay” Fleishel (Genie) and Allen Frederick Fleishel (Joanna); grandchildren, Charlotte Elizabeth Fleishel, Robert Frederick Fleishel, Owen Edward Fleishel, and Parker Graham Fleishel; and sisters, Margaret Claiborne Foster, Sue Claiborne Tucker (Harry), and Edwina Claiborne Heatherly (Wayne). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 1:00 PM at Birmingham United Methodist Church, 15770 Birmingham Highway, Milton, GA 30004. A reception will follow at Woodmont Golf Club, 3105 Gaddis Road, Canton, GA 30115.
