Helen McCormick, formerly of Middletown, NY died Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Sunrise Senior Living in Atlanta, Georgia where she moved to be near her children. She was 94. Helen was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Gumoski who owned a family business where Helen worked until she married. She was born on August 3, 1918 in Port Jervis, NY. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Port Jervis. Helen devoted over 50 years to her husband and she was known for her lively, upbeat personality and positive attitude. She was a special friend to her neighbors of over 50 years on Watkins Avenue in Middletown and she enjoyed new friendships during her years in Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Francis McCormick and is survived by her sons, Donald McCormick, Kenneth McCormick; daughter, Linda McCormick; grandchildren, Lisa McCormick, Donald McCormick, Jr., Krista Heilpern; and great grandchildren, Corrine, Marissa, and Brent McCormick, Heather and John Heilpern. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. A memorial service will be Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 11 o’clock at Sunrise Assisted Living at Huntcliff.
