James Milton “Spike” Sandifer, age 91, passed away on June 26, 2015 at home in Atlanta.
Milton was born and raised in East Point, Georgia to Della McKibben and Madison E. Sandifer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loyce Miles Sandifer, and survived by their four sons Mark Sandifer and partner Rob Howell, Cliff Sandifer, Paul Sandifer and wife Diane Rickett Sandifer, and John Sandifer and partner Pam Mason. He is also survived by two dear grandsons, Miles and Parks Sandifer.
Milton graduated from Russell High School in 1942. During WWII he served with the US First Army 78th Infantry Division, participated in the European Theatre Battle of the Bulge, and received the Bronze Star. After the War he attended Georgia Tech and began a successful career as draftsman and residential home designer, constructing homes through the Southeast. A work associate nicknamed him “Spike”. His interest in astrology was well known by many as he was eager to share his knowledge of every sign, especially his own: Taurus the Bull.
Milton and Loyce were long time members of Peachtree Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held at the Peachtree Presbyterian Church Kellett Chapel on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM. The church address is 3434 Roswell Rd. NW; Atlanta, GA 30305.
