Jane Adams Wells

Jane Wells (née Adams) died peacefully in The Villages, FL, on June 4, 2014, at the age of 89. Jane is survived by her son, John (Jackie) Wells of Little River, SC; her daughter-in-law, Carol Sarnese, of The Villages, FL; her grandchildren, Adam (Carlisle) Jones of Nashville, TN, Stacy (Jason) Taylor of Lebanon, TN, Holly Wells of Clearwater, FL, Kristen (John Kauffman) Wells of San Diego, CA, and Michael Wells of The Villages, FL. Jane is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Alexandra Kauffman, and Bryson, Carter, and Elijah Taylor. Jane is preceded in death by her parents John (Jack) and Lyle Adams; her husband, Donald "Don" Wells, her daughter, Margaret "Marny" Jones, as well as Alphonse Sarnese. Jane was born on June 28, 1924, in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and spent her childhood in Oil City, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Oil City High School in 1941 and from Allegheny College in 1945 with a Bachelor's degree in History. While at Allegheny College, Jane was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She met Don Wells at a picnic during freshman week at Allegheny College, and married him on December 8, 1945. Jane and Don initially lived in Cleveland, OH, where they welcomed their son, John. In 1952, Jane and Don moved to Shaker Heights, OH, where they welcomed their daughter, Marny. In 1968, Jane and her family moved to Atlanta, where she lived until 2013. She relocated to The Villages, FL, in 2013. Jane enjoyed golf, card games, and spending time with her many friends and family. She was a member of the Atlanta New Neighbors League Club, serving as President in 1969. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 12, beginning at 1:00 p.m. and have a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at H.M. Patterson and Son-Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. A reception will follow the service.
