Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Jean Dodd, went peacefully to rest in the arms of our Savior and Lord October 30, 2018. She was born May 2, 1921 in Randolph County, NC to Ross and Lillie Bell Vuncannon. Jean married her late husband of 54 years, William Robert Dodd in Baltimore, MD. After living in North Carolina they settled in Atlanta in 1959. Jean and Bill were active members of Wieuca Road Baptist Church. She was an accomplished seamstress striving to make garments look “handmade” not “homemade”. She was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed needlepointing. Jean also had a successful career in residential real estate. Mrs. Dodd is survived by her daughter, Rene Dodd Smith and her husband, Willingham; two granddaughters and their spouses, Mary Dodd Walker and Brian, Luckie Smith Duckett and Trey; and four great grandchildren, Mary Morgan Walker, William Duckett, Charlie Duckett and Lillie Duckett. Graveside services will be November 1, 2018 at 11 o’clock at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon Hwy., Sandy Springs, GA 30328. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners’ Hospital for Children- Attn. Donor Development Office, 815 Market St., Galveston, TX 77550 or charity of your choice.
