

On August 20th, 2011 John Edward Mullen passed away peacefully at the age of 76 surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. He was born July 29th, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At the age of 16 he met his beloved wife, Roslyn, celebrating 57 years of Marriage this past June. After graduating from Edinboro University, he continued his studies at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. He worked several jobs to support his family until accepting a position with Dow Chemical Company. Throughout his career, Mr. Mullen was transferred several times settling in Dunwoody, Georgia where he retired in 1987. Shortly thereafter, he returned to work in executive sales training for Sales Concepts until deciding to enjoy retirement for good. In retirement, Mr. Mullen spent his time volunteering his services to St. Joseph’s Hospital and serving on several boards in the community. He enjoyed his regular golf group outings, working outside on his lawn, spending time with his children and grandchildren and traveling with his wife. Mr. Mullen is survived by his wife, Roslyn, his son, John Mullen Jr. (Nancy) of Austin, Texas, daughters, Cindy Coe (Johnny) and Allison Feltner (Rodney) of Fayetteville, Georgia and predeceased by his son Brian Mullen (Patrice) and grandson Mitchell Mullen of Valparaiso, Indiana. Mr. Mullen is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael, Mallarie and Mackenzie Mullen of Valparaiso, Indiana, Brendon Mullen of Austin Texas, Hannah and Abby Feltner; Maxwell and Jackson Mattox of Fayetteville, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospital Mercy Foundation, 5673 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd, Suite 650, Sandy Springs, GA 30342. A Memorial Mass will be Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. at H.M Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd., NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
