

Lawrence Vernon “Larry” Luttrell, age 90 of Sandy Springs went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2013. He was born in Folly, VA on November 12, 1922 to the late Alfred and Agnes Luttrell and grew up in Burgess, VA. Larry graduated from Heathville High School in Heathville, VA and Massey Business College in Richmond, VA. He also attended Emory University and served his country as an Army staff sergeant in World War II from 1941-1945. As soon as he returned from the war he married the love of his life, his precious Becky. Larry was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school director, Training Union leader and teacher. He was a great prayer warrior. Mr. Luttrell was known for being a loving and devoted husband, faithful friend, and true man of God. He will be sorely missed as a godly influence and spiritual mentor to many. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 ½ years, Becky Luttrell; sister, Agnes Martin; 3 nieces and one nephew, all of Virginia; and sister-in-law and 3 nephews of Georgia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wears Valley Ranch, 3001 Lyon Springs Rd., Sevierville, TN 37862 or to Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 850 Mt. Vernon Hwy., Sandy Springs, GA 30327. Funeral services will be Monday, July 1st at 2 o’clock at Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park in Smyrna. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 until 6 o’clock at H.M. Patterson & Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd., NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
