

Lillian Ruth Taylor Loudermilk, 88, mother of three, passed away December 24, 2012. An acute Alzheimer’s patient for a decade, her passing followed a brief illness. She was born in Blue Ridge, GA in 1924 and was the daughter of Donna Clayton Taylor and Robert S. Taylor. The third of four children, she was predeceased by her parents; older sister, Mattie Sue McDonald of Atlanta; brother, Bill Taylor of Blue Ridge; and son, Phillip Taylor Loudermilk of Atlanta. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Sue “Susie” Loudermilk Blauvelt of McDonough, GA; son-in-law, Robert Blauvelt; and son, Glenn S. Loudermilk, Jr. and family of Oakwood, GA. She is also survived by her younger brother, Robert S. “June” Taylor and family of Blue Ridge; grandson, Homer Aggie “Buddy” Whitaker and family; granddaughter, Casey Whitaker; and great grandson, Tyler Whitaker. Mrs. Loudermilk moved to Atlanta in 1944 and worked a variety of clerical positions until she married Glenn S. Loudermilk, Sr. of Marietta, GA on December 20, 1947. She later became actively involved in her children’s school programs, garden clubs and devoted considerable time to children’s charities. She was a former member of Wieuca Road Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Loudermilk and her husband operated the Clermont Hotel on Ponce de Leon Avenue for 45 years, jointly until her husband’s death in 1979, then solely until its sale in early 2003. Graveside services will be Friday, December 28, 2012 at 10 o’clock at Arlington Memorial Park.
