Linda Morrison Huggins, age 67, of Newnan, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025. She was born on May 31, 1957, in Atlanta, Georgia, to William and Janice Morrison, both of whom preceded her in death.
Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her two children, Jennifer Ponder (Jason Short) and Tim Ponder; her two cherished grandchildren, Evan Cicchini-Ponder and Thomas Short; and her three siblings, Marilyn Prescott, Patricia Thompson, and John Morrison.
For the past decade, Linda faced the challenges of dementia with grace, supported by her devoted family. In particular, her sister Patti served as her guardian and advocate, caring for Linda in her home for several years. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many caregivers who supported Linda, including her nieces and nephews, the compassionate staff at Benton House of Newnan, and the wonderful staff at The Haven, whose kindness and daily care was deeply appreciated.
Linda was a woman of incredible warmth and generosity, known for her loving, kind, and easygoing nature. She had a gift for making those around her feel welcome and at ease. Linda loved to laugh, and her sense of humor was one of the many qualities that endeared her to everyone who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and her favorite memories were made at the beach, especially on St. Simon’s Island.
Linda's life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and the simple joys of being with those she cherished. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A graveside service will be held at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Linda’s life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Linda’s honor.
May she rest in peace, surrounded by love and light.
