
Lorette (Rhette) Taylor Greenlees passed away on January 10, 2026 at age 93. She was a native Atlantan and resided in East Cobb for the past 32 years. She was a graduate of Washington Seminary class of 1950 and Marjorie Webster Junior College in Washington D.C.
Rhette was born on April 28, 1932, the daughter of Lorette Georgiana Cloutier and James Herbert Taylor, Jr. Rhette was a homemaker and a huge volunteer for most of her life including past President of the Poppy Garden Club, member and past board member of the Rabun Gap Nacoochee Guild, Member of the Chattahoochee Women’s Club, past board member of the Dorothy Sommer Our Circle, member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, and past board member of the Buckhead Girl’s Club.
The beach was her love whether it was down on 30A near Seaside or on the Georgia coast at Saint Simons Island or Sea Island. She enjoyed her family, bridge groups, cooking, plants and flowers, interior design, theatre, and of course shopping. She also loved her dogs and had a great sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jim & Lorette and her daughter Sue Bialas. She is survived by her son Lawrence (Larry) Helbig and his wife Susan of East Cobb along with three grandsons: Scott Chirismer (Emily) of Alpharetta, Taylor Chrismer of St. Petersburg, FL, and Curt Higdon (Michelle) of New Port Richey, FL and three great grandchildren (Emma, Madi, and Bennett). She is also survived by her only brother James Herbert Taylor III and his wife Freida of Birmingham, Alabama, along with their three children: Kay and Carey Williams, Anna and Chris Carson, and James IV and Shannon Taylor, all of Birmingham.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23rd, 2026 at 10:00 AM at H.M. Patterson & Son- Arlington Chapel in Sandy Springs at 173 Allen Road with entombment at Westview Abbey Mausoleum. The family will receive friends prior to the service in the parlor.
