Parry D. Soder, MD, 80, of Atlanta, died peacefully September 2, 2012. Dr. Soder was born in Waukesha, WI and was the son of the late Daniel and Lola Soder. He served in the U.S. Navy and graduated from the University of Wisconsin where he received his undergraduate degree and his Doctorate. From 1967 until he retired in 1999 Dr. Soder was the Chief of Radiology at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was an innovator in the MRI field and founded Atlanta Radiology Imaging Center. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Anne Soder; son, Daniel Foster Soder; grandchildren, Coleman, Elizabeth, and Riley Schleifer; sisters, Madeline “Becky” DePersio and Diane O’Mara; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from 6 to 8 o’clock at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd, NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 2 o’clock at The Cathedral of St. Philip, 2744 Peachtree Rd, NW, Atlanta, GA 30305. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Mercy Foundation, 5665 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd, Sandy Springs, GA 30342. May he rest in peace.
