

Pauline (POLLY) Blalock Robertson, 84, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012, at her home, with her daughters, and family at her bedside. She joins in heaven, her husband of 62 years, C. Perry Robertson, who predeceased her, October 3, 2008. Polly was born February 6, 1928; she was the daughter of Charles F. Blalock and Alice Anglin Blalock, who predeceased her. She was predeceased by seven sisters and two brothers; Myrtle Foutz, Evia Daniel, Evelyn Jones, Frances Lipford, Ozelle Leres, Guyreen Johnson, Betty Jo McKnight, Thomas Blalock, and Roy Blalock. Polly graduated from West Fulton High School in 1946. She then married the love of her life, Perry, in December of that same year. Polly had various jobs as a young woman, and began her secretarial career at Georgia Power Company. When she left Georgia Power Co. she was an executive secretary. She later worked at Silver Bear Paper Co. in Atlanta. Polly began her real estate career with Childress Realty Co. in Atlanta, and then worked as a sales agent with North side Realty at the North River office, then in the East Cobb office. Polly was faithful to her Lord, she was always active in the churches that she had membership; West Manor Baptist, Beecher Hills Baptist, and later, Mount Vernon Baptist Church. She served on various committees, and was active in the W.M.U. Polly was the mother of three daughters, twins, Pam and Patti, and later, Paula. Polly was the consummate Southern woman. She was active in her daughters’ school and church activities. She raised her daughters in that manner as well, by passing along her skills in hospitality, sewing, decorating, and cooking, and fostered their love of music. She was all that she could be as a mother to her girls. Polly’s devotion to her entire family was always the driving force in her life. Polly leaves daughters, Mrs. Pamela (Malcom) McGahee of Greenville, SC, Mrs. Patricia (Randy) Pritchett of Marietta, GA, and Mrs. Paula (Jaime) Sibert of Simpsonville, SC; Grandchildren, Matthew (Melanie) McGahee of Greer, SC, Mrs. Ashley (Robert) Keene of Charleston, SC, Andrew R. (Kelly) Pritchett of Raleigh, NC, Payton Pritchett of Marietta, GA, and Peter Pritchett of Athens, GA, Shelby Sibert and Maggie Sibert of Simpsonville, SC. Polly was the proud Great Grandmother of Abraham (Bram) Robertson Pritchett of Raleigh, NC. Polly is survived by a sister-in-law Mrs. Betty (Walter L.) Robertson. Numerous nieces and nephews in the Atlanta area, Tuscaloosa, AL, and Georgia mourn their ‘Aunt Polly’ as well. Special thanks to Polly’s caregivers, Ms. Brenda Abercrombie, Ms. Angie Conway, and Ms. Nicole Conway; we could not have taken care of mom without you! Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 8th at two o’clock at Arlington Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
