

Mrs. Pepas “Pitsa” Sirmas Soteres, 98, a native Atlantan died on Tuesday, the 13th of May 2014. She was a lifelong member of The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation and a 76 year member of the Daughters of Penelope. Pitsa was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Soteres and was born 1 of 6 sisters and is the last to survive. Surviving are her daughters, Sophia Poulakos, Helen Avgerinos both of Atlanta, Kathy Glisson of Marietta; son and daughter-in-law, Tyke and Linda Soteres of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; grandchildren, Jimmy, Stephen, and Gregory Poulakos; Karen Glisson, Stephanie Blair, Olga Denning, and Steve Avgerinos; 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, the 16th of May at eleven o’clock at The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation with the Reverend Father Christos P. Mars officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, 2500 Clairmont Road, NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30329. Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family Thursday evening from six until eight o’clock with a Trisagion prayer service at seven o’clock at H. M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, NE, Sandy Springs, Georgia 30328.
