

Roland Wilson Fuentes passed away on November 27, 2025, after a prolonged illness. Born on January 31, 1934, he was the son of Cecil L. Fuentes and Maria Fuentes Espinoza, who emigrated from Cuba in 1917.
A graduate of Chaminade Preparatory, Roland continued his education earning a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1956. He served with distinction in the United States Air Force, attending the USAF War College and serving in Vietnam, later continuing his service in the Air Force Reserves for over 22 years. In 1971, he received an MBA from Georgia State University and pursued a successful career in commercial real estate in the Atlanta area.
As a proud Georgia Tech alumnus, Roland remained active in the Alumni Association and the Alexander Tharpe Fund, and was a dedicated supporter of Georgia Tech athletics. Guided by his deep Catholic faith, he served as a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Atlanta, contributing to the finance council, acting as an usher, and chairing committees. In recognition of his service to God and the Church, he was honored with several accolades.
An accomplished athlete, Roland was a nationally ranked senior tennis player and an avid golfer, enjoying these sports in both Atlanta and Castine, Maine, where he and his wife, Anne, spent many cherished years together.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Anne Brandau Fuentes; his three sons, Roland Wilson Fuentes Jr., Robinson McLendon Fuentes, and Joseph Charlton Fuentes; and his sister, Rosalie Hitt.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Roland’s life will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4465 Northside Drive NW, Atlanta, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church or the Georgia Tech Alumni Association.
A funeral service will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, located at 4465 Northside Dr NW, Atlanta, GA 30327, United States. The service is scheduled for December 10, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
The final resting place for Roland Wilson Fuentes will be Arlington Memorial Park, situated at 201 Mount Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs.
