Roy W.(Hard Head) Jackson, Sr 87, of Montgomery, AL, and the Dominican Republic passed away January 5, 2011. Mr. Jackson was born in Brownsville, TX to the late Claude & Gertrude Jackson. Roy served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne during WWII. He served this country honorably and received several commendations, medals and was awarded 2 Purple Hearts. Mr Jackson was preceded in death by his loving wife Susana (The Queen) Jackson. He is survived by his daughters Evelyn Jackson of Montgomery, AL, Kimberley Jackson of Sandy Springs; son Roy W. Jackson, Jr and his fiancé Pamela Veloz of Sandy Springs, GA; grandson Dylan Jordan of Montgomery, AL, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Arlington Memorial Park Sunrise Chapel with military honors to follow. The family will have a reception following Mr. Jackson's Memorial service at the home of Rod and Ana Sterling. Information and directions will be provided at the memorial service.
