Ruth Maguire Bates

Raised outside of Chicago in Homewood, Illinois, Ruth married her first husband, Jim Maguire in August 1950 until his death in 1988. Ruth found love again and married Bill Bates in 2006 until his death in 2019.

Ruth is survived by her 3 children and their spouses: Ann Russell (Jim, deceased), Dev Maguire (Beth) and Bill Maguire (Mia), 5 grandsons -Jim Russell, Jr., Tom Russell (Maeve), Mike Russell (Payton), Mac Maguire (Shelby) and Will Maguire (Tori) and 3 beautiful great-granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church or Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home, 760 Pollard Blvd.,SW, Atlanta, GA 30315

A memorial mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4465 Northside Dr., Atlanta, Ga. 30327. The service may also be viewed at https://hsccatl.com/LiveStream/
