
Belle “Scott” Bowen Watt passed away suddenly following a brief illness on Wednesday, January 26, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kingdom Watt III, and her parents Belle Scott Meador Bowen of Atlanta and Leonard John Bowen of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She is survived by her sister, Linda Bowen Baker, brother–in-law Tielke Baker and stepsons Jim and Jason Watt and their families, many cousins and friends, and her beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Rose. Born in Atlanta on April 3, 1948, Scott was raised in San Tome, Venezuela where her father was an executive with the Gulf Oil Company. She attended high school at Stuart Hall in Stanton, Virginia. She was also a graduate of the University of Georgia where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Scott was a member of the Atlanta Debutant Club and the Junior Leagues of Atlanta. She began her career at West Lumber Company and later General Electric where she worked for 15 years in a variety of positions. She later changed careers preferring to concentrate on her love of writing, marketing, and public relations. At the time of her death she was self-employed. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, 1925 Century Blvd., NE, suite 10, Atlanta, GA 30345. Funeral services will be Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Patterson’s Arlington Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd, NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
