Steven Warren Marshall died Sunday morning, July 3, 2011, of a heart attack. Steven was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 19, 1966. He graduated from The Vanguard School, Lake Wales, Florida. Steven worked in retail for more than twenty years; for the last several years, he worked at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at Peachtree Battle shopping center. Steven was always Rite Aid’s top donation gatherer during the Children’s Miracle Network Fund Drive. He was a regular blood donor and a cornea donor. He was active in outreach ministries at Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was thoughtful and kind to everyone – in his words, “I just want everyone to get along”. After a motor cycle accident several years ago, Steven gave up driving. He loved to walk, to read, and to master every new electronic gadget! Seldom was he seen without a book under his arm.
Steven is survived by his mother, Cheryl Johnston, his father and step-mother, Steve and Liz Marshall, his grandmother Gloria Warren Johnston, his sister, Cheryl Marshall Hufstetler and her husband, Wayne, his brother, Clayton Marshall, a sister-in-law, Margo Marshall, and a step- brother and sister-in law, Brian and Michelle Marshall. He is also survived by a niece, Megan Marshall, and two nephews, Cameron and Spencer Marshall. He is survived by two aunts, Julianne Carson and Linda Mattingly, and two uncles, Mark Johnston and Bryan Marshall, a number of cousins, and a host of friends. His beloved rescued dog, Jasper, also survives. The funeral is Saturday at 11 for family members. Burial will be in Arlington.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 8, 2011, 6-8 pm at Patterson’s Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd. NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
