Tim M. Long, age 63 passed away on April 9, 2018. He was born in Atlanta, GA. He graduated from Westminster High School and went on to become a proud graduate of the University of Georgia. Not only could you call him a true Atlantan but also a true Southern Gentleman.
While Tim worked in the Financial Industry for many years and was a proud member of the Georgia National Defense Force, he was happiest when working on his home. He loved his role as the pool-guy, the yard-guy, firewood guy and mister-fix-it. With Google and YouTube as his resources there was nothing that Tim Long could not fix! Or at least give it a darn good try!
Tim always had a smile on his face and laughter was never far away when he was around. Tim was equally comfortable as the life of the party as he was the steady hand and shoulder to lean on. Tim was always there to offer a helping hand, sound advice and guidance.
Tim’s talent as a softball player was only surpassed by his talent as a musician. There was not an instrument around Tim could not get a tune out of. Some of the happiest times would find him jamming with friends.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Scranton-Long, faithful companion, and the best dog, Eddie, mother in-law Sherry Melvin, brother and sister in-law Michael and Melissa Scranton and many wonderful cousins from North Carolina.
Tim’s spirit, smile, and laughter will be forever missed.
Memorial Services celebrating Tim’s life will take place on Saturday, the 14th of April 2018 at two o’clock in the afternoon at H. M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, Sandy Springs with the family receiving friends at one o'clock. In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to Tim’s online memorial link at https://give.northside.com/timothylong.
