Mr. Najarian was born in Yerevan, Armenia on April 25, 1947 to Zaven and Arevik Najarian. He along with his two siblings grew up in post World War II Soviet Armenia. This was a time of poverty, lack of basic necessities, long lines to buy staples at grocery stores, and general underprivileged upbringing. Mr. Najarian's strong discipline, wise management of resources and his hallmark endurance were birthed during these tough times. These characteristics played an instrumental part later on in his family's immigration to the U.S. Vazken received a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from Yerevan State University in 1972. Vazken met and married Anahit Ashikyan in 1976 in their hometown of Yerevan, Armenia. Shortly thereafter he accepted Christ while still in Armenia. Mr. Najarian became a committed man of God, fearlessly preaching the gospel to all those whom he encountered, whether it was strangers in the bus or taxi, or to friends and family during gatherings- his favorite topic was proclaiming Christ’s Love. Many of the younger generation in his extended family became Christians because of that.
Mr. Najarian along with his wife and three sons immigrated to McDonough, Georgia in 1989. This was a courageous step of faith leaving the known comforts of his homeland and stepping into uncharted territories. His characteristic hard work and perseverance paid off and his three sons were able to get higher education the U.S. He was also active in Christian Ministry, volunteering as chaplain at Henry County Sheriff’s Department in the Jail for 10 years. Over time, as his family grew and included grandchildren and daughters in laws he enjoyed Very much spending family time together. He cherished all of his grandchildren and spent tremendous amount of time with each one of them.
He will be missed by his family and friends!! He was truly a Christ center man of God!
