

A private Family viewing will be held at Shelton Funeral Home of Decatur, Alabama. A graveside service will be held at Burningtree Memorial Gardens in Decatur, Alabama on January 4th at 11:30 am CT. A Celebration of Life and time for remembrance will be held afterward at 1:00 pm CT.
Virginia was born October 27th,1933 in Parksley, Virginia to John and Merle Drummond. She was primarily a homemaker for many years but also worked with children and in creative pursuits otherwise. She enjoyed tending to her home and garden and had a wonderful group of friends both in Huntsville, Decatur, and then in Atlanta more recently.
Virginia is predeceased by her loving husband of many years, Bennie E Pope and also her son Larry E Pope (Lori) and daughter Janice Wyman (Calvin); her loving sister Dorothy Fletcher (Wade Sr) and brothers Bobby (Mary Jane), Johnny (Gertrude) and Richard (Ruth). Virginia leaves behind her son Michael (Andrea) - Brandon and Wesley; daughter Teresa - Justin, Nathaniel, Grayson and Mitch; additional grandchildren, Brooke, Le, Matt and Benji; Alanna and Jocelyn: and a dynasty of great-grandchildren.
Virginia was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She will be honored and incredibly missed by those who have loved her and called her family or friend.
