William Augustus Nipper

William “Bill” Augustus Nipper age 81, passed away at home on April 19, 2016. Bill was born July 26, 1934 in Griffin, GA but lived the vast majority of his life in Atlanta. He was the son of the late Theodore Augustus Nipper and Bess Polhill Nipper. Bill was preceded in death by his sister Kate Nipper Kezar and his nephew William “Ed” Kezar. He is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth “Candy” Nipper and his 3 stepchildren Larry Jamison, Michael Jamison and Kathryn Jamison Gonzalez, their families, his nephew Charles Kezar, and grandniece, Katie Kezar.

Bill, an avid member of the KA fraternity, graduated from Georgia Tech in 1956 with a BSIM. He attended OCS in Athens before assuming his commission in the Navy. He served as the bursar on a Navy supply ship, a precursor to his banking career which followed.

After completing his military service he returned to Atlanta and went to work for C&S Bank (now Bank of America) under the helm of Mills B Lane, where he worked for 30+ years. He became Vice President in the Private Banking Group working with Personal Trust Clients.

Bill and Elizabeth married on May 24, 1986. They enjoyed extensive travel with family and friends. On Saturday, April 23 at 2:00PM there will be a graveside service: Decatur Cemetery 299 Bell Street Decatur, GA30030. The family will receive friends at home to celebrate Bill’s life following the service.
