Carmella Galdi Serena never met a stranger.  She made friends everywhere she went.  When my sister started dating her youngest son, Frank, Carmella was very friendly and welcoming to her and her son. Very soon, our whole family became one with the Serena family!  We've had a lot of holidays and meals together since then .  My Mom took a friend with her to give something to Carmella and even though they'd never met before, Carmella sent lots of delicious Italian cooking home with Mom's friend, Dolores. Dolores couldn't believe anyone could be so generous and friendly!  Carmella will be greatly missed in our family and community .

My brother Frankie I give you my sincere condolences. I never met your mom but I can see you in her. Bless you brother she is already blessed.

Millie  was a beautiful light that touched so many of us.  I can still hear her laughing and see her beaming smile she use to say to me "are you sure you're not Italian"  She welcomed everyone and made them family.  She was so filled with God's love she radiated it in her smile, her cooking  and in her thoughts, her deeds , her words and even in her prayers.  She blessed us all .

We are happy to have known Carmella. It was a joy to see her at Sunday mass during our time at All Souls Catholic Church. Frank and Joy have our condolences!

I was brought into the Serena family when I was just a baby. Everyone immediately became a family figure in my life; a mother, father, brother, sister, aunt, uncle. For Carmela and Nicholas it was no different. They became grandparents to me and will forever be Gammy and Pop Pop. They fill so many of my wonderful childhood memories with fun, laughter, happiness, love, and of course, amazing homemade meals. I will be forever grateful for those memories, the love that they have always shown me, and to be a part of such a beautiful family. — I love you Gammy. Give Pop Pop my love.

A very Dear Friend has been promoted and is singing her songs for the family she has joined.  She and her wonderful family made this lady feel very welcomed and loved.  I never go into a fabric store without thinking of Millie and the fun we had.  Love to you all

I always loved going to Maria's when Carmela was there.  She would call me Deb LeBlanc.  I will most remember her smile and when she giggled..and...the devilment in her eyes.  We would drive Maria crazy because I got Carmela to teach me Italian words and when Maria got after us we laughed and laughed.
I will miss Carmela and will think about her often. P.S.  Her hot rolls were devine. 

Maria and Frankie, I am so sorry for the loss of Carmella. She will always be in my heart  as the sweetest, kindest, and  funniest person at Life Care Center. We had some great times together with our mothers and I will never forget her laughing and our conversations.  Y’all will be in my thoughts and prayers. Love you. ❤️
