Cecil was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on November 11, 1939 and came to Sanford in 1955. Cecil worked in various professions. He worked for Nehi Bottling Company as a delivery driver, a service station attendant for Wareco, various companies in the construction industry, plant manager of Cobia Boats, owner operator in the trucking industry, equipment operator at Settled Solids and an express mail carrier for Zengel & Sons.
Cecil is pre-deceased by his mother Lola Puckett Legette Eskew, his father Paul Gray Legette, step-father Thomas Eskew, sister Peggy Barnes and brother George Legette.
Cecil is survived by his wife Yoma “Y” Legette. They had been married just short of 64 years. He is also survived by his children Becky Wilson (Parker), Grady Legette (Charlotte), Liz Minson (Aaron), five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, a sister Lisa Willis.
A Celebration of Life will held at a later date.
