Donald Arlen Brandenburg

It is with overwhelming sadness that the family of Don Brandenburg announces his passing on December 11, 2019. Don was born May 21, 1944 in Panama City, Fl to his parents Donald E. Brandenburg and Eleanor J. Heron. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Florida Atlantic University and worked over 50 distinguished years in the Petroleum Industry. Don was married to the love of his life, Lynda, for 52 years. He loved and was so proud of his three children; Mark, Tracy, & Stacy. He also cherished his large and loving family. Don was the epitome of a family man: he loved being a husband, father, and grandfather. He would move mountains for any member of his family. He was a “dad” to many of his children’s friends throughout their life as well when he was coaching baseball, softball and basketball; another thing that gave him so much joy. Don enjoyed life to the fullest! He loved taking trips with his family; scuba diving, snow skiing, cruising……as long as his family was involved, he was happy. He enjoyed playing board games with family and friends; he almost always won! He liked going to concerts, watching sports, going to sporting events, talking to anyone and everyone, and he liked to always be right! He is survived by his wife, Lynda. His children Mark Brandenburg (Jennifer Staab), Tracy Brandenburg (Dawn Coggin), Stacy Brandenburg (James Kopp) and his grandchildren Cara Brandenburg and Andy Fidler. He is also survived by his extended family: Brenda & Pete Upham; Darlene Wester; Keith & Adriana Upham; Kathy, Paul, Christopher & Ella Reule; and Nicole Brandenburg McGranor and Jennifer Gargis (children of his late brother Mike Brandenburg.) A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held on Saturday, December 14th at 6:30 pm -9:30 pm at Sawyer Lake Park, 1100 Heathrow Blvd., Lake Mary, Florida.
