Ms. Doris Gardner, 61, returned to her heavenly home on Friday May 27, 2016 at 11:47 am due to complications following a heart transplant. She passed away peacefully at Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida. Ms. Doris was born to Florene Pittman on October 25, 1954 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She lived in Boston, Massachusetts form 1978 to 2007. She relocating to Sanford, Florida in 2007, where she remained until the time of her passing. Ms. Doris retired from the healthcare field as an accounts receivable specialist. Ms. Doris was caring, generous, and supportive to all who knew her. She was a faithful member of Allen Chapel Church on Sanford. Ms. Doris is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Gardner and Lisa Spruill; her sister Delores Brown and her brother Terri Lee Gardner, three grandchildren Ricki Nelson, Keenan Gardner, and Sean Spruill Jr., son-in-law Sean Spruill Sr. and many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel on Saturday June 11, 2016 from 11:00 am to 1:00pm, with funeral services beginning at 1:00 pm. The funeral home is located at 5000 County Road 46A in Sanford.
