Florence Shaw Mooney, 92, passed away October 23, 2015 in Longwood, Florida. She was born July 16, 1923 in Fall River, Massachusetts to James Shaw and Alice Lizotte. She worked as a Media Specialist for many years at Sabal Point Elementary School in Longwood. She was a founding member of Nativity Catholic Church in Longwood and lived in the same residence in Lake Mary for 54 years, one of the original owners on her street. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 42 years, Robert Mooney; her brother James Shaw; and her sister May Harkin. She is survived by her daughter Paula M. Taylor and her husband David; her granddaughter Brianne (Taylor) McKinstrie and her husband Nicholas; and her great grandchildren Landon, Addison and Nathan McKinstrie. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 9, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Nativity Catholic Church, 3255 North Ronald Reagan Boulevard, Longwood, Florida 32750. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Park Cemetery, 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, Florida 32771. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made in her memory to All Souls Catholic School, 810 South Oak Avenue, Sanford, Florida 32771.
