I can’t believe it has been one year.  I think of you all the time.  I miss you and our phone calls with Ron Hurley.

There is no doubt that John was a special person who's smile lit up the room when he entered.
The fun times we had at dine arounds  at restaurants and homes, our trip to Italy driving from village  to village, golfing,
our time together on the board of govenors. I especially enjoyed each time i came to town John and Linda took the time to meet
Up with Patty and I for dinner. 
John will surly be missed but not forgotten.

Who would have thought that our meeting as next door neighbors in 1970 (53 years ago) would lead to a lifelong friendship.  We have shared many things through these years.  We share your loss with you as John was a great friend.  His sense of humor always kept us laughing.  We will miss him too. We will always be here for you and Pam. We love you both.

Dear Linda 
Johnny was the first person I  met in 2002 when we moved to Heathrow. Our house was being built next door to you and it wasn’t unusual to have John come over to say hi when I showed up to check on the place.  It also wasn’t  difficult to know he was the kind of person I would be proud to call my friend. He was so easy to be around and took the time to make us feel welcome. 
I enjoyed our lunches at Rick and Lee’s. Johnny loved his oysters and fried shrimp…fond memories for me.
We’re going to miss him  but rest assured you are special to us too. Friends do for friends.

I met John 25 years ago when I joined Heathrow Country Club.  We were both golfing member and often played together in the same foursomes.  We both had fun and our handicaps seemed to stay about the same.  

I was John’s roommate on many away golf outings.  That’s where I learned John was an early morning riser (4:30 AM!).  Thankfully, he was mostly quiet and I was able to go back to sleep for a few more hours.  

Both John and I had marketing backgrounds and were interested in many of the same business and customer service issues.  John introduced me to SCORE (Service Core of Retired Executives) where he was a volunteer mentor for small businesses and taught seminars.  He recruited me to develop the SCORE Educational Program which offered numerous business seminars.  

One of Penny’s and my favorite social events has been with the Lopezes and 2 or 3 other Heathrow couples.  Named  the “Dinner Group,”  one couple would choose an interesting or new restaurant for the group to try.  It was always a fun and  lively evening.

John was a quiet, friendly person, an effective leader and a great team captain.  He is and will be missed.

Linda, as you know, Johnny and I were close friends all through high school.  He, Sonny Wells, Charlie Webb, Ranny Pierce, Ron Hurley, and I had many adventures together. Lots of special memories of Johnny and you. I was saddened to learn from Ranny of his passing. Please accept my prayers and condolences and God give you strength during these difficult times.

John was a great guy and dear friend. I've known him since high school and through all these years. Looked so forward to our 3 way phone calls with Ranny. He will be missed.

What made John special was his solid friendship. Always comfortable with him, knowing that  you would have a good time whether on the golf course or at the dinner table. He will certainly be missed.

John and I have been friends, good friends, no, great friends for 67 years.  I will miss him so much; it’s hard to describe.  RIP my oldest friend.  🎶

Linda:   John was a dear friend to so many of our Heathrow golfers and neighbors.  During his leadership on the Heathrow Board of Directors, as well as his tenure  as Commissioner of the Senior Men's Golf organization he touched the lives of many and will be sorely missed.
His passing, while extremely hurtful, may be viewed as a relief to his suffering.  Clearly your presence as a holy being by his side during this difficult period was exceedingly important to John.   I'll miss our weekday luncheons with John and his optimistic approach to life.  There are  people whose paths we cross during our lives who are truly special.   John was one of those  folks and will be dearly missed.  Please accept our deepest sympathy in your loss, Terry and Judy Kelchner.
