He was born in Oberlin, Ohio on May 1st 1945. to the late Myron and Helen Werner. He served his country in the United States Navy.
John graduated from Boulder High School and received a BS in Computer Science from Mercy College in New York.
He married Sandra Battersby on November 1st, 1969.
John worked in computer programming for Bell Telephone and NYNEX in New York and Convergys in Florida.
He was a member of River Oaks Church in Lake Mary and had a passion for fishing, reading, and family.
John was preceded in death by his brother Joel Werner.
He is survived by his loving wife Sandra Werner by, his sister Marjorie Bell, his children Sherry Birnhak and Michael Werner (Dana White), his grandchildren Brooke Birnhak, Ryan Birnhak, Rylee Shuemake, Kaylee Shuemake, and Faith Werner.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 am on March 19, 2022 at River Oaks Church, 385 Washington Avenue, Lake Mary, Florida 32746. Please RSVP with the family if you plan to attend the services.
