So all these years later I’m seeing Glenn’s obituary and I want to express my sympathies. I served with Glenn in the Marines here in Orlando for several years. He was funny, smart. He also was the detective who caught the murderer of a fellow employee I worked with at Martin Marietta back in the late 80’s. I was always so grateful that he took that POS off the streets. Although it’s been seven years since his passing, I still remember him to this day. Semper Fi Glenn!

I learned of Glen's passing today from the article in today's Orlando Sentinel ("Longtime Orlando homicide detective dies at 69"). We have been gone on vacation since July 7. Glen & I met in January 2012 as hospital roommates; Glen had a knee replacement and I had a hip replacement. We hit it off right away. Both of us were vets (he a USMC Master Gunnery Sergeant and I a USN Naval Aviator) and really enjoyed each other's "sea stories". Glen had stories from both his USMC and OPD days. Some were funny, some were hair raising and all were fascinating! Glen was one of those rare people that you instantly like and having him for a roommate made those 4 days much easier, almost enjoyable. I was discharged before he was and felt bad leaving him there! To Glenda and the family: I am very sorry about Glen. Please know that, for what it's worth, knowing him for just 4 days made a big impact on me, just as it surely did for others he met. Glen was not only one of the good guys, he was a good man. The world was a better place with him in it.

So very sorry to hear of Glen's passing. He was a very kind hearted and generous man. Each of us who knew him will carry fond memories of him and his stories forever. Glen was a great man and a a great law enforcement officer. Everyone valued the opportunity to work with Glen and he never-ever gave up on a case. One of the best people you would ever want to meet. Glenn was a model Marine.  Sad to miss his service but I am in NY.  I know the Marines will send him off with honors.

Glen was the most down to earth man I have ever met.  He always had a smile on his face and could bring one to yours.  He was always the first to offer to lend a hand if needed.  He will be truly missed.  I feel fortunate that I had the chance to know him.  May you Rest in Peace.

I met Glen years ago when I was first starting to try homicide cases.  Glen taught me so much.  He was such a joy to work with.  He would go above and beyond to locate witnesses, help prepare the case, and kick around ideas.  Glen was a great detective and passed on his skills and knowledge to many others.  Glen was always kind, personable, and funny.  I got to meet Glenda several times over the years and heard many stories of his children.  Glen will be missed.  My thoughts go out to his family both Glenda and the boys and his OPD family.

I have fond memories of sitting in The Gause's living room listening to Mr Gause tell stories about the  job and growing up.  I could sit there for hours listening to him talk. The Gause always were so hospitable to all of us boys growing up. He was always there for guidance to our friends who weren't lucky enough to have a father like him. He will be missed by all but his lessons and mentorship will live through the men he molded. Rest in paradise sir.

Glen and Emmett Browning worked for mein the Intelligence unit. They were inseparable friends, so much so that we referred to them as Glemett. Glen was a fine and honorable man that that I admired and respected. He and Emmett were tenacious bulldogs that would track a criminal to the end of the earth if required. 
Glenn loved Emmett as a dear friend and I know Emmett must take a measure of comfort in that.
I want Glen's children to know that their father left a deep and indelible footprint on this earth. His honesty and integrity are truly worthy of emulation in thiese turbulent and troublesome times. He was a cops cop in every sense of that term. 
I believe that in the end justice will be meted out according to a persons goodness or evil. In that regard Gen has nothing to fear. Not a man like him. Rest In Peace my friend, I will not forget you.

I first met Glen as a Police Cadet assigned to the Criminal Investigative Division.  We became friends over my 20+ year career as an Orlando Police Officer and walked the halls of CID together as Detectives.  Glen always took the time to teach me and explain investigative techniques whenever the opportunity presented itself; as a Cadet, as an Officer, and as a Detective.  It didn't matter whether you were a civilian or a sworn officer.  Glen took the time.  Glen made time.  This was just one takeaway of many that made an impact on many officers, not just me.  Glen established rapport early on in many communities, before a tragic event even occurred, and so, individuals knew Glen was genuine guy; genuine in his efforts to bring justice to those who took the life of another.  Often times, Glen was the only Detective anyone would want to speak to because he earned their trust over time.

Glen, you may have left this world but your demonstration of patience and compassion live on in so many ways.  God bless and Godspeed.  My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you and your family.

I had lunch with Glenn not long ago, I will miss him, a good person and a good cop. RIP my friend.

Glen married the love of his life on 14 August 1971 and Sonny married the love of his life on the same day! It was very important when I married the love of my life, that it would be on the same day! We all had 2 sons only! His love for family and friends was above and beyond comforting. Junior you were our best and are as much of  a brother as our own blood. I was so deeply saddened to have read today of the passing of my dear friend and confidant, Glenn Gause. I was blessed to have had the opportunity to have worked side by side with Glenn on many crime scene investigations within the City of Orlando. On the eve of his retirement from the Orlando Police Department, I sent him a short Happy Retirement note, along with my thanks for his teaching me the myriad of intricacies in the sphere of crime scene investigations. Subsequently, Glenn responded back to me by saying..."getting my note of thanks & gratitude from a worker bee like me meant more to him than all the plaques & awards he had received from upper management". It was through his teachings that made my career in crime scene flourish for 26 years. 
Rest in peace my dear friend.

Very sorry to learn of Glen's passing. A very good guy and a very good cop. Will be missed by a lot of people. Thoughts and prayers are with all of  Glen's family. RIP Glen, good job with the " dash" !
