Miguel A. Sostre Cancel

Miguel was born on April 10, 1928 in Vega Baja, P.R. He went to school up to the 7th grade because he had to work to help care for the family. His mother had passed away when he was 15 years old. Later in life he finished his schooling and then went to the University of P. R. to study business administration.

He married Lydia De Alba in Santurce, P.R. on October 25, 1952. His marriage lasted 32 years. Lydia passed away on August 11, 1984.

They had 3 children together: Maritza, Gilberto and Miguel A. Sostre, Jr. He owned 2 hardware stores with his partner Luis Fortuño.

He was a member of the Church of God Mission Board in Bayamón, P.R. for many years. He enjoyed watching boxing, baseball and basketball. He also enjoyed traveling.

On July 4th, 1985 he married Alicia Montalvo, after his first wife passed away.

Miguel was preceded in death by his mother Francisca, his father Toribio and his brothers Jaime and William.

He is survived by his present wife Alicia Sostre, his daughter Maritza Collazo, his son Gilberto Sostre (Zulma) and his younger son Miguel A. Sostre, Jr. (Jennifer). His grandchildren Keishla Thomas (Jason), Jessica Collazo (La Trease), Lydia Flores (Juan), Erick Sostre (Nichole), Michael Sostre (Gabriella) and Gabriel Sostre; and 7 great-grandchildren. As well other family members and friends, and his caregivers that helped to take care of him for the past five years.
