She worked at Robison's Bakery in Charleroi, PA. In November 1959 she married Bernard F. Zilka and together they ran Zilka Flour Co. for many years. They resided in Monessen, PA until their retirement to Florida.
Millie is survived by her sisters Barbara Gibbs of Ellsworth, PA and Bernadene Rupcich of Pittsburgh, PA, as well as by many loving nieces and nephews including Robert Jones of FL.
Millie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Nancy Jones of Sanford, FL (Robert) and Rita Shaughnessy (Charles) of Pittsburgh.
Millie was a founding member of the Friends of Monessen Public Library, First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association (FCSLA), the Red Hat Society and many other groups. She will be remembered as an expert seamstress, crocheter, baker and for her kind and giving nature. She was also an avid reader and lover of all animals particularly her kitties. Millie had a beautiful smile and never met a stranger. All acquaintances became her immediate close friend.
Our great thanks for their care are extended to the Orange City Skilled Nursing, local EMT, who became her friend, Patricia and Michael Cauliflower and especially the two angels sent to care for her for many, many years Walt and Rosa Miller of Sanford.
