Born in Syracuse, New York to the late Theresa M. and Patrick F. O'Leary, Patricia was raised in the Westvale neighborhood. She graduated from West Hill Central School in 1980.
Throughout her long and successful career, Patricia held numerous human resources and logistics positions with major retailers across the East Coast. Her work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to connect with people served her well in various management roles over the decades.
Whether working diligently behind the scenes or building relationships with colleagues, Patricia approached every professional opportunity with dedication and poise. Her career was a testament to her intelligence, perseverance, and advocacy for her team members' success and commitment to excellence.
To those blessed to know her, Patricia's most cherished role was that of loving "Glammy." Her grandchildren Luna, Stella and Maison were the absolute lights of her life. Patricia treasured every moment spent with them, delighting in their laughter, curiosity and accomplishments at each age and stage. She will be profoundly missed by her three precious grandchildren. Family was everything to Patricia.
She was deeply devoted to her partner Vaughn “Papa Vaughn” Franklin and their adored animal companion, Deja, in creating a loving and joy-filled home together. Patricia's relationship with her grandchildren's mother Lydia Alcivar was similarly special - a bond that transcended titles.
In addition to her partner and grandchildren, Patricia took enormous pride in being one of seven daughters. From their childhood years being raised together in Westvale to becoming mature women navigating life's joys and challenges, the O'Leary sisters formed an unbreakable bond. They relied on one another, shared countless laughs, gave warm advice, and created treasured memories that spoke to the depths of their care for each other. Her surviving sisters include Andrea O'Leary, Emmie O'Leary (Peter Hall), Susan O'Leary, Theresa O'Leary (Alec Daitsman), Catherine O'Leary and JR O'Leary. She was the adored aunt of Michael Campagna (Angela) and David Hall, and loving great-aunt to Daniel Campagna.
Patricia will also be greatly missed by her dear friends and family of choice Sue Ann Sarra, Stratton Rawson and Latanja Morsell, as well as numerous cousins in the United States and Canada.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to an education fund to support the future academic pursuits of Patricia's beloved grandchildren. Donations can be made through the GoFundMe online platform at Patricia's Legacy Through Education (or through the link under "Donations" below). The family is deeply grateful for any gifts that will provide educational opportunities for the next generation.
A celebration of Patricia's life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 beginning at 11 am at Baldwin Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, Florida. Internment following the service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery. A memorial service in Buffalo, New York is planned for a later date.
