April 1, 1942 – May 22, 2026
Robert George Morey, known to family and friends simply as Bob, passed away on May 22, 2026, in DeLand, Florida, at the age of 84.
Born on April 1, 1942, in Gloversville, New York, Bob lived a life defined by service, dedication, kindness, and quiet strength.
Bob’s proudest accomplishment was his distinguished 23-year career in the United States Air Force. Rising to the rank of Master Sergeant, he served as a Dental Laboratory Technician, where
he was recognized for his outstanding duty performance, exceptional technical skills, and unwavering commitment to excellence. His military career reflected the qualities that shaped his entire life — discipline, precision, integrity, and service to others.
After retiring from the Air Force in 1982, Bob continued his public service career with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, where he worked for ten years before retiring once again.
Yet, despite his many professional accomplishments, Bob will be remembered most for who he was beyond his titles and uniforms — a devoted son, loving father, proud grandfather, trusted friend, and caring neighbor.
Bob leaves this world with a lasting legacy of six children and eight grandchildren. Though he may not have had many material possessions, Bob’s greatest gift was his generous heart; he gave
freely of what mattered most: his time, his listening ear, his steady support, and his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever someone needed him.
Bob was known for being exceptionally organized, neat, and dependable — someone who took pride in doing things right. In his younger years, he had a passion for working on classic cars,
finding satisfaction in craftsmanship, detail, and bringing things back to life.
A devoted college football fan, Bob never missed a game and proudly wore his teams’ colors. Whether cheering on the Florida State Seminoles or the Clemson Tigers, he followed every
season with loyalty, enthusiasm, and pride. Game days were special to him, and family and friends knew just how much he loved supporting his teams.
Those who knew Bob knew a man with a big heart, quiet compassion, and a deep sense of responsibility to the people around him. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the lives he
touched, and the example of service and kindness he leaves behind.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
