
Roy C. Davis, age 77, of Winter Springs, Florida passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, January 4, 2025. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to David and Florence Davis, both deceased, he had traveled and lived in numerous areas of the country even before he became a long-distance and ice-road truck driver.
Roy was a gentle soul and a kind and generous man. A plaque on the wall of DeSoto Towers in Bradenton, Florida, where he lived for several years reads “Dedicated to Roy Davis and the Davis Family. In appreciation for your dedication to our Military, Flags and the many gifts you gave, your love, kindness and hard work while you were a resident. Your Friends at DeSoto Towers Salute You!”
Roy was generous in so many ways. He played the part of Santa Clause at numerous functions, supported the American Legion and donated regularly to the St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, Montana.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Hensley, and his grandchildren Kyle, Kristian and Kandace Jean of Lakewood, Washington. He is also survived by his brother William “Dave” Davis and his wife Sheila Faye Davis of Bradenton, Florida, his sister Penny Lescard and her husband Victor Lescard of Sebring, Florida, and his sister Scherry Jenkins and her husband Rick Jenkins of Lake Mary, Florida, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned in Bradenton, Florida at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
