Ruth R. O’Neill, 86, died in Orange City, FL, on Friday, January 22, 2016. She was born in Rossville, Indiana, on June 5, 1929, to Carl and Lucile Yost. She was the wife of Eugene O’Neill, and a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a Navy veteran. She enjoyed oil painting and working in her yard. After retirement she volunteered for many years at Sunrise Elementary in Deltona, FL, assisting children with improving their reading skills. She was preceded in death by her husband, and her brothers Barry Yost, Carl Yost, and Tom Yost. She is survived by her sisters Patricia Garrett and Jerri Collins and brother John Yost. She is also survived by her three children Patrick O’Neill (wife Donna), Dale O’Neill (wife Pamela), and Susan O’Neill. Ruth has four grandchildren, Kelly Defibaugh (husband Eric), Kathleen O’Neill, Briana O’Neill, and Ian O’Neill, and one great-grandchild, Caden Defibaugh. A service will be held at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel in Sanford, FL, on Saturday, January, 30, 2016, at 1:00 pm.
