Scott Graydon Barnes

Scott graduated from Boca Ciega High School in Gulfport, FL, and spent most of his life in St. Pete and Tierra Verde, FL. Scott was a graduate of St. John’s University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business.

Scott first served in the United States Air Force before beginning a career in law enforcement. He was very proud of his years of service both in the military and as a police detective. He then went on to work as Security and Safety Director for TIME, Inc. before owning & operating a number of successful businesses during his lifetime including a private investigations firm as well as a home “flipping” enterprise.

His interests outside of work included extensive travel, home improvement projects, outdoor activities, watching football and, most importantly, spending time with family.

He was survived by his wife of over 41 years, Grace, daughter Lanelle Hulstedt (Rob), granddaughters Taylor and Teagan, mother Patricia Vallery (S.J), sister Wendell Heather Young (J.D.), brothers Brian and Marc Barnes (Ivy) and numerous nieces and nephews.
