Wallace was born on August 10, 1928 to Ray and Blanche Cress in Kingwood, West Virginia. He joined the Navy in 1946 and served for 20 years. After leaving the Navy, he became an entrepreneur. Wallace married Ruth Stumper of Brooklyn, NY in 1952 and were married for 53 years who preceded him in death in 2005.
When in the Navy, he was stationed at Sanford NAS in 1956 and decided to invest in Florida. He enjoyed flying, boating and traveling. He enjoyed spending time in his houseboat on the St. Johns River with his wife, family and friends and traveling in his RV. Wallace grew up in West Virginia and Maryland and loved to visit and take the family to reminisce. He also enjoyed living on the St. Johns River and attending to his orange grove and riding his Ford Tractor in Lake Mary Florida.
He enjoyed spending family time as a father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather (Granddad/G-Pa) He is survived by his four children and spouse. Donna and Aaron Nutt, Debbie and Terry Alday, Tom and Gretchen Cress and Dennis Cress. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Sarah, Daniel, Karl, Ricky, Natalia, Rachel, Ryan, Nathan, Rachel, Ryan, Nathan and Paige and also nine great grandchildren.
