Here's my favorite memory of what Cliff used to  say "ARGO" there are 
 only a few of us who will remember! Till we meet again!

I have known Cliff since I was 9 years old when he started dating my sister Sheila in high school.  He was as easy going and loving then as he was to his last breath.  
I have so many memories that it would take a book to share them all.  As I grew and married, the four of us went on weekend adventures boating and picnicking on little islands on the St. John’s river.  Many fish fries, many camping excursions.  Many wonderful memories.
Cliff got along with everyone.  I cannot think of a single person who did not love him, I cannot think of a single animal that didn’t come to him - so much so we nicknamed him “De. Doolittle”.
He had such a kind and gentle soul and he loved my sister Sheila with every ounce of his being,  He loved my nephews Cliff and Chris and instilled that love for life and others in them - they are kind and loving like their father.  
One of my funniest memories is of the four of us fishing in a boat near lillipads and trees (that’s where the big bass were).  Sheila and I kept fishing “in the trees” breaking the line trying to get it loose.  For about the tenth time, I was again hooked in a tree, I was determined not to break my line again, so I vigorously swooshed the pole up and down, side to side, determined to break it free.  The line was so tight it was “humming” - it broke loose - we heard a loud “whistling” sound as the bobber flew through the air at Mach 10 speed.  As it rapidly approached cliff’s forehead,  my husband yelled oh “explicative” - and watched cliff’s eyes cross as the bobber whacked  him in the forehead making a horrible “thud” sound.  Cliff turned to me, rubbing the red lump on his forehead and quietly said, “damn Cheryl, I didn’t know bobbers could whistle.”   Thought I would have to give my husband “CPR” he was laughing so hard.  
But my greatest memory will always be how he loved my sister and his family for over 50 years.
You will be missed and never forgotten.  See you on the other side my brother. Love ya.


What I remember most about Clifton was his consistency--Clifton was Clifton, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.   Always a good father, a good provider, and he was always good to my sister, Sheila.  He was even a good brother-in-law.  He had a good sense of humor and was always dependable.  What I remember most about Clifton was the way he loved Sheila.  During a difficult time in my youth I needed a place to stay.  I'm sure he may not have been  too keen on the idea of taking me in, but Sheila always had a big heart and took pity on those in need. She even took in stray cats! I'm sure she asked him, and--because of his love for her--allowed me to stay with them.  I'll never forget their kindness and generosity during that time.  Because of their generosity I have made every effort to kept them in my prayers, daily asking God to bless them for their kindness to me.  There are many other memories--milking cows with Clifton, fishing with him, trying to homestead an island on a river near Orlando.  All of them, good memories.  I will miss him and his steadfastness.

May you rest in peace in heaven grandpa. I remember when Dad and I were fishing and you helped cook it for me and those countless summers spent with you and grandma I'll never forget I will carry those memories with me forever. 

I remember Big Cliff as a kind and gentle man. He loved to laugh! He loved being outdoors and camping with the boys but mostly he loved his wife and his children. I am so sorry to hear that he has passed  but pray my mom and dad were there to give him a big hug and help welcome him home. My prayers for you, Sheila and Cliff and all of his family.
