Denny was born on July 12,1940 in Orlando Florida and was a lifelong resident of Sanford Florida.
Denny worked for many years for his brother Glenn's business, Hollieanna Groves where he helped process citrus in the packing house. In the summer months, Denny often spent time at his home away from home with the Van Hook family in Tennessee.
Denny lived a full life surrounded by all his “best friends”. Denny always had a kind word, a smile and of course a question or three for everyone he met. For years, Denny patrolled his neighborhood on foot, happy to stop and say hello to all his neighbors and talk about the University of Florida Gators. At Christmas he loved participating in the neighborhood golf cart Christmas parade.
Each Sunday you could find Denny in his regular pew at Holy Cross Episcopal Church where he faithfully worshipped for 80 years. One of his biggest honors came when he was chosen as one of the three wise men in the Feast of the Epiphany Pageant. Dressed in crown and robe, Denny proudly walked down the aisle to deliver gold to the baby Jesus.
Denny lived an extraordinary life thanks to all the friends, neighbors, and parishioners that gave him friendship, fellowship, emotional support and treated him with patience and kindness. While he died after a short battle with kidney cancer his heart was full of love until the end. Denny will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him. A special thanks to Kathy Olson for making Denny's last year one of his best and for being so supportive to him during his final days.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Glenn Lingle and Helen Denzel Lingle, and his brother Glenn A. Lingle. Denny is survived by his sister-in-law, Jane D Lingle, nieces Phyllis Randall(Greg) Alinda “Punky” Buerk (Kevin Phillips), nephews Kurt Lingle (Sandra) and Jason Lingle (Debra Kelly) as well as numerous grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins and best friends too numerous to count.
The funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Episcopal Church at 2 pm on Sunday, March 5, 2023. The family will receive friends for a reception following the service. A graveside service be held in Oaklawn Cemetery following the reception.
