Mr. Southerland was born on March 14, 1944 in Greensfork, Indiana to the late Floyd and Mattie Southerland where he grew up on a farm. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army and later worked as a supervisor in construction industry. He was an avid fisherman and jokester who loved his family deeply.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mattie Southerland and his siblings, Pauline Conyers, Shirley Roberts, and James Southerland.
Survivors include his loving wife Marcia Southerland; children, Willie Wayne Southerland, Jr. (Jill) and Michelle Minichino (Robert); siblings, Virginia Short, Jerry Southerland, and Carolyn Smith, and grandchildren, Keely Southerland, Emily Minichino, and Connor Minichino.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 5000 CR 46A, Sanford, Florida 32771.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 am on Friday, July 29, 2022 at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
