

Art was 82 at the time of his passing on December 8, 2016. He was a longtime resident of Villa Park for 45 years. He died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Orange from complications after a surgery. Art was a first generation American, born in Los Angeles on July 29, 1934 to Alfred and Hedwig Lundgren, immigrants from Sweden. He had one older brother. He was married to Darlene on August 14, 1959. He was in the U S Navy, graduated from the University of Southern California and later earned a Master’s in Business at Cal State Fullerton. He worked for several corporations in finance, and later independently selling insurance, and as a financial planner. He loved to travel with his wife, go wine tasting with his friends, snorkel in Maui, grow oranges and avocados in his yard and entertain in their home. He has lived in Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, and Villa Park. He enjoyed a good football game, especially if USC was playing. He was a member of the American Legion. He loved people, sharing about his adventures and what he was doing next. He was a loving friend, helpful, and caring. He is survived by his wife Darlene, children Laura and Brad, daughter-in-law Lisa, his grandchildren Daniel, Megan, Jonathan, and Alison, and his brother Ralph. His memorial service will be held December 23, 2016 at 2:30 at the Waverly Chapel in Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana.
