Enriqueta Buenrostro was a woman of faith and strength. Her grace, love, and beautiful smile were a guiding light in the lives of her family and friends. She was a mother to many, from children to grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Enriqueta opened her heart to everyone, always ready to offer a story or food to the hungry hearts and stomachs of those who asked.
Her personality was never lacking, headstrong, and full of humor; she loved to share a drink and joke around with everyone. She hailed from Jalisco, the land of tequila and mariachi, both of which she loved and danced to well into her hundreds.
Enriqueta was a warrior, a cancer survivor who fought for her life and the lives of her ten kids and grandchildren. She was not one to give up, always pushing forward through life with fortitude and passion. ¡Siempre lista para el combate!
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9)
