Gloria Jane Schuessler

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Gloria, who passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was a devoted mother, wife, friend, who touched the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Gloria was born on September 26, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to Francis and John Klima. On June 25, 1955 she married her sweetheart Raymond (Ray) Fred Schuessler whom she first met in 1939 while in kindergarten. Gloria and Ray first settled in the Chicago area of Berwyn, Illinois for 12 years, before moving to Corinth, Mississippi in 1967. In 1976 they moved to their current residence in Santa Ana, California.

Our mother's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Gloria was a loving and caring mother who always put her family's needs before her own. She was always there to offer a listening ear, a warm embrace, and words of encouragement. Her unwavering love and support were the pillars of our family, and we will forever cherish the memories we shared with her.

Gloria was also an avid gardener who took great pride in tending to her beautiful flowers. She had a green thumb and could often be found outside, planting, pruning, and watering her beloved garden. Her flowers were a reflection of her vibrant and joyful personality, and they brought beauty and happiness to everyone who saw them.

Our mother will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Gloria was a kind, loving, and selfless woman who touched the lives of so many. Although we are heartbroken by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and reunited with her loved ones who passed before her.

Gloria is survived by her husband Ray and her children Leanne (companion Jim preceded in death), David (spouse Indira), Paul (spouse Tammy), and Adrienne (spouse David), Grandchildren Brook, David Jr., Zakary, Monica, Mykel, Alek, Kolby, Madison, Matthew, Mackenzie as well as Great Grandchildren Anika, Ken, Jentzen and Crew.

Gloria was preceded in death by her brother Jack and daughter Karen (spouse David).

A funeral service for Gloria will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Fairhaven Memorial Park Mortuary, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705. It will be followed by a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A visitation will be available prior to the funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
