Memo was born November 11th, 1932, in Acatic, Jalisco Mexico to Manuel Sandoval Almaraz and Sara Sanchez Anaya. He lived in Acatic until he immigrated to the United States in 1955.
A year later, he returned to Acatic to marry the love of his life, Francisca ‘Pachita’ Alvarado De La Mora on January 4th,1956. Shortly after his wedding, Memo went back to the United States and worked tirelessly until he was able to send for his wife. Memo and Pachita would go on to have four children: France Sandoval Shimabukuro, Sarah Grace Sandoval, William Sandoval, and Alberto Sergio Sandoval.
Memo had a very strong work ethic and sacrificed throughout his entire life to provide the best for his family. He worked in fields and factories for many years until he was hired by Pepsi. Memo was so proud of his work at Pepsi that he jokingly banned Coca-Cola beverages from our house. He even taught his eldest granddaughter her first word which was, of course, “Pepsi”.
Memo loved spending time with his family, friends and volunteering his time at Our Lady of the Pillar Church. Memo also walked in a community Del Camino Neocatecumenal first Spanish at St Barbara's.
He had many hobbies which included: home improvement projects, going to South Coast Auction, watching soccer (favorite team Atlas), watching the NASA channel, and nature scenes on YouTube. He had a great sense of humor, a trait which we all inherited. He loved telling jokes, riddles, pranks, and was always amused by hiding plates of food from his family when their backs were turned.
Guillermo dedicated his life to his family, friends, and community. Though he has transitioned from this world, his spirit will live on forever within all of us.
Memo is survived by his wife, Francisca ‘Pachita’ Sandoval, their four children: France Sandoval Shimabukuro, Sarah Grace Sandoval, William Sandoval, Alberto Sergio Sandoval and his daughter-in-law, Nanci Sandoval.
