
James Joseph Fodera 1924 - 2016 Jim died peacefully in Santa Ana, CA on Sunday, July 17, 2016 after a lengthy illness. Born in Greensburg, PA on September 8, 1924, the son of Frank and Martha Fodera, following high school graduation, Jim worked as a civilian rebuilding ships in the Pearl Harbor Navy Yards. From 1948 through 1949, he served in the U.S. Army in Europe and returned to Pennsylvania to marry Frances (Markowitz) in 1950. Jim and Frances moved to Santa Ana, CA in 1960 and raised their family in a home he designed and built surrounded by acres of orange groves. Until retirement, Jim worked as a Union carpenter for sixty-five years and took great pride in his craft. He leaves his loving wife, Frances, children, Martha Bass, Joyce (John) Gallie, Carol (Tim) Fodera-Jones, and James (Candy) Fodera, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Visitation and Rosary will be at Fairhaven Memorial Park on Monday, July 25, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Cathedral in Orange, CA on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at 12 noon, followed by a graveside service at Fairhaven Memorial Park’s Serenity Garden.
