Janice Kay Schutz was born March 21, 1937 in Iowa to Leonard and Alice Bell. She passed away at 89 years old on May 6, 2026 in her home of 52 years in Tustin, CA. Kay is survived by her 2 daughters Loree and Vickie Schutz. Kay's husband Larry, passed away 3 years ago. They would have been married 68 years on May 25. She also had one brother, Loyal Gene Bell who passed away 30 years earlier.
Kay worked various jobs as a young lady, from working in a market, to candy striper in a mental institution, working on the farm, went to school to become a cosmetologist, helped her dad fix cars, to bookkeeping, which finally led to her starting her own successful accounting business which she loved.
Kay was always very active! She loved to bowl and square dance with her parents. Went camping every weekend with the family. Loved riding bikes to the beach. She was very involved with her daughters, from being a Blue Bird Leader, to managing softball teams, Umpire-in-chief and so much more.
Once Kay retired at 63 to take care of her mother, she got involved with the Red Hat Society and had a ball. Then started dancing a few years after that doing tap and clogging. She was so much fun to watch.
Most importantly, she loved her family unconditionally! Once retired she got to travel the world. Loved going to Hawaii with the family and lots of cruising.
Everyone always felt welcomed around her. She was known for her gift of talking and hosting all family get-togethers where she could put out a spread in no time.
She was the best mom who always made us feel loved and was so loved. She will be forever missed!
